What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is the ability to be aware of the body, emotions, and mind with a presence of kindness and gentleness.  The daily practice of mindfulness results in being less reactive to life’s situations and less overwhelmed by the experiences we have.  There are contemplative practices that date back thousands of years rooted in Buddhism, Christianity, Islam and many other traditions; as well as groundbreaking scientific research that shows the healing capacities of these simple yet profound tools of well being.

Meals: Retreat rates include all meals.  We will enjoy light fresh vegetarian meals with limited chicken and fish options for dinner.  When training in mindfulness it is best to not overeat as it dulls the awareness of body, emotions and mind.

Accommodations:

There are several options for accommodations to meet your preferences and budget.  There are a very limited number newly constructed self contained cottages, as well as several Safari tents.  There are also many beautiful shaded spaces for self-camping, as sleeping close to nature is a wonderful way to deeply ground.  Please see the accommodation options below.
