Lamu Yoga Festival 2022
For its 8th instalment, the Lamu Yoga Festival (LYFe), is collaborating with 30 yoga and wellness instructors not only from Kenya, but across the world – to bring 5 days of well-being to the magical island of Lamu.
LYFe 2022 will maintain its focus of bringing yoga, breathing, meditation and informative wellness workshops to the people of Lamu, as well as Kenyans who are seeking to nurture their yoga practice and improve their wellness. Attendees will also get to enjoy miles of empty beaches, no cars, abundant fresh seafood and produce.
Happening between 5th and 9th October 2022, highlights of the festival include a beach opening ceremony, Swahili dinner, dhow sail and final bonfire. The programme includes a variety of yoga classes, meditations and workshops focused on personal growth, dance, and nutrition. They will be held in Shela, Manda Island and special yoga day trips to Lamu Town and Kipungani.
The festival also benefits Lamu locals by
- Raising funds to cover a full year stipend for the services of a local yoga teacher to teach women and children in the village
- Enabling them to attend the festival and appreciate the positive benefits of the practice
- Funding a Reusable Sanitary Pads Drive for young women and girls in need
Spoil yourself and extend your stay with a few days to enjoy all Lamu island has to offer.
