Hi!
My name is Tanya and I’m the proud owner of the Henna Boutique.
My journey into henna is one full of nostalgia, as I recount one of my first experiences with henna. It was during my sister’s wedding. I was 15 years old, a teenager who was also unwell, and, at some point looked a little ghostly, among the wedding finery.
The henna was in a bowl, it was a thick paste, and there was a stick we used to apply to our skin. It was fun to watch how the designs were made, at the flick of a stick and, interestingly, how you angled the stick also determined how the paste lay onto the skin.
After that, I then started practicing henna using those (now I know!) ghastly mass-produced cones. The real turning point in henna came 10 years afterwards, when I attended a henna course, by Ash Kumar, where I learned how to make the paste, and how to create designs from simple to bridal styles.
As I became engulfed in the process of making the paste, I realised how grounded I felt, mixing the organic henna powder, life-saving water, mother nature’s nectar in the form of sugar and, of course, her calming essence which is Lavender essential oil.
I developed this into my wellbeing henna practice, where I visualise and give gratitude to mama nature for her gift of henna to us.
During my henna for wellbeing experiences, these are usually where we sit low to the ground, to feel more grounded, I encourage the client to be mindful of the henna, as it flows onto their skin. As I apply the henna, I also give a short visualisation, so the client feels the energy of the ingredients.
I can’t wait to connect with you, share space with you and indulge in your journey on henna together.
With gratitude for your time and love.

Henna for wellbeing:
These can look like individual appointments, or during events, where clients will get fresh natural henna applied to the desired area. This can be anywhere on the body, whether it’s the back, butt, or even the head – the body is my canvas.
Ahead of the appointment, I make fresh henna paste, to ensure a dark stain. During the appointment, I ensure that you are relaxed and mindful of the henna flowing onto your skin. There can be a visualisation, or not, however the client feels comfortable. After the appointment, the aftercare is explained and all the client has to do is watch as the stain evolves into maturity.
I can’t wait to adorn you and empower you with henna. It truly is my calling.
