Book of the month
Paulo Coelho
by Narissa Allibhai
Divine feminine spirituality, the Goddess, and the Mother. Paolo Coelho explores these concepts with his distinctive wisdom and didactic style of writing fiction. What does it mean to be a witch, and who is the Mother?
The life of Athena is told through various people who knew her, loved or hated her. This book spoke to my soul. Open your mind and explore…
Paramahansa Yogananda
by Narissa Allibhai
A must-read for any serious yogi or spiritual seeker. It’s not often we get to hear from a such a pure and spiritually advanced soul. Sri Yogananda tells the story of his own life and struggles in a materialistic world to go deep into his spiritual search for enlightenment.
He tells stories of his encounters with various gurus before finding his own. He shares his pilgrimages, studies and experiences. With the humility of a truly enlightened master, he lays out lessons in life and Vedanta that are invaluable and inspiring.

Tom Robbins
by Narissa Allibhai
Jitterbug Perfume was the quirkiest and weirdest-in-the-best-way-possible book I have read this year. First of all, Tom Robbins is ridiculous. Why are there beetroots on every other page?!
In the book you will find a pagan king running away from death, horny concubines, an early Christian confused community, the Greek God of wild mountains and sexual indulgence Pan, shamans and lamas, a young widow who refuses to join her husband on the funeral pyre, and many more lovable characters.
Teaser of Robbins’ delightfully odd descriptions: ” Days grew shorter… Ducks lined up to buy their tickets to southern swamps…Wolves made clouds when they sang at night. Maybe that was where the fogs came from.”
